Shijo-Omiya is a transit hub where Hankyu Kyoto Line's Omiya Station and Keifuku Arashiyama Main Line's Shijo-Omiya Station meet, yet step one lane in from the shopping street, and it's a calm town where Kyoto life carries on unchanged.

It's a well-situated base, with sightseeing spots in western Kyoto — Arashiyama, Sagano, Myoshin-ji, Ninna-ji, Ryoan-ji — reachable by a single train ride. The hotel sits in a convenient spot, whether as a base for sightseeing or for a stay that touches Kyoto's everyday life.

CUORE stands in a town with two faces: about a minute's walk from the station, yet quiet the moment you step into a lane.

Each room has its own en-suite bathroom, and the hotel also offers a spacious communal bath and sauna. Stretching legs tired from a day of sightseeing, slowly, in the bathtub — having that time apart from the room's own bathroom is, we believe, a form of stay particular to CUORE.

The bathroom, built around the texture of stone and wood, was designed so guests can move at their own pace amid the quiet. The sauna, too, lets you step away from outside noise and sweat at length.

At the end of a day spent sightseeing, moving between the bath and the sauna to settle body and mind — that closing moment is what we hope to offer our guests.

Although newly built, we wanted the hotel to retain the air of Japanese design so distinctive to Kyoto. With that in mind, we brought the texture of materials like wood, tatami, and washi paper into every corner of the hotel.

We value that contrast: standing in the shopping-street town of Shijo-Omiya, yet a quiet, Japanese-inflected stillness settling in the moment you step inside.

How do we translate the name "CUORE" (heart) into a physical space? Rather than a flashy statement, we wanted a place where guests could feel both quiet and warmth. With that thought at the center, we designed everything from the guest rooms to the shared spaces in a single, consistent tone.

Calm tones built around the texture of wood; the touch of materials like washi paper and tatami; and the communal bath and sauna, facilities that settle body and mind at the close of the day. We aimed for something more than each individual charm — an experience where the whole quietly lets the heart loosen.

While honoring the particular character of Shijo-Omiya, a town that is both a sightseeing spot and an extension of everyday life, we intend to keep refining the quality of a stay here.
